UNDP Fleet Tracker App Privacy Policy

I.              Introduction

Data privacy is of utmost importance to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).  This privacy statement describes UNDP’s policy concerning the gathering and sharing of users’ information through this UNDP application.   By using this UNDP application, you are accepting the practices described in this policy.

II.            Overview

UNDP has a corporate privacy policy that governs the use of personally identifiable information.  The application-specific privacy policies will be complementary to this general UNDP privacy policy, but will give additional details for the particular use of the application.

1)     Scope. This policy applies to data, contained in any form, and processed in any manner by this application.

2)     Data controller and transfer.

The data controller for this application is manager of this application.    This person determines the decisions about the purposes and procedures of how and why the application will use any data provided by the user.  No data will be sold of transferred to third parties without the express consent of the user.

III.          Data collections and uses

1)     The data we collect

a.     The UNDP fleet tracker Android app does not handle personal information.

b.     The single sign-on page provides users across UNDP and UN partner agencies with simple access to the relevant corporate platform using existing agency credentials.

c.      The UNDP fleet tracker Android application allows users to upload files to the UNDP fleet tracker secured platform at the time of vehicle booking. In addition, an explicit permission to read and write from device storage is asked at the time of installation for this feature.

d.     While booking a vehicle, the user will need to provide the source and destination addresses. The user will also need to provide location permission to view the map. An explicit permission for location is asked at the time of installation.

e.     Application does not collect below information from user:

o   Contacts on the phone:

o   SMS and call related data.

o   List of other apps installed on the device

o   financial and payment-related information

2)     How we use personal data

a.     This application does not use any personal data of the user

3)     Third-party technologies 

a.     The Microsoft Authentication Service is used to authenticate logged-in users.

b.     The Firebase Messaging Service is used to get the booking and trip related notifications from the server, the application uses the Firebase messaging service.

4)     Data sharing and disclosure

a.     In case of an application crash, it records the device name, operating system version, and configuration of the app in the logs; this is purely for debugging purposes.

b.     The application does not share any kind of information with external service providers.

5)     Data retention and deletion

Data is retained for the time that is necessary for the specified purposes of the application.

IV.          Choice and transparency

o   The user can disallow device storage and location permissions through the application settings.

V.            Updates to this Notice

This privacy notice will be periodically reviewed and updated as necessary when the policy changes.
